Salad Dressing
Most people live pretty busy lives nowadays. Most weeks, I
run here and there like a chicken with its head cut off
myself! Nonetheless, most people aren't nearly as busy as
they think. A lot of the time, people use busyness as an excuse
for laziness.
If they would just take a little but more time for the
things that mattered, it would greatly enhance their quality of
life. After all, why work so hard if you are not going to enjoy
the simple pleasures when you have time off? If you want proof
of this, you need new look no further than the sale of
commercial salad dressing. I don't know about you, but almost
all of the salad dressings that I have tried out are
terrible.
It isn't that they don't try to make good salad dressing –
they probably do everything they can. It is just that you
simply can't prepackage dressing that is anything near as good
as what you can cook up yourself in a few minutes.
You can use oil and vinegar, mustard, wasabi, walnuts –
Almost any ingredients that you can imagine. The possibilities
of salad dressings are limitless. All you need is a little bit
of imagination and five minutes of work. When you are making a
dressing for spinach salad in particular, you need to have the
right balance of flavors in order to balance out the strong,
leafy taste. I like to use fresh herbs and garlic.
A salad dressing doesn't have to have that much garlic – one
clove will usually do it for two to three servings. You have to
chop it finely, of course, but you should always chop it right
before you serve it.
That way, the taste is fresh and pungent. If you're worried
about how your breath will smell, why not add a little bit of
mint? It will give more complexity to the dressing, and will
ensure that you finish having fresh, clean breath.
Of course, you can get exotic as well. If you have never
tried mango vinaigrette salad dressing, you don't know what
you're missing! Mango is becoming very vogue the world over. It
has a delicious, complex flavor, keeps well, and is healthy for
you on top of all that. Besides that, it is a wonderfully
sweet. If your fear of salad is holding your diet back,
you must try this immediately! It will cure you of your
vegetable phobia.
