Odds of Having Twins
Right now, pregnancy around Hollywood is running rampant.
The biggest buzz is, of course, Angelina Jolie and the fact
that she’s having twins. She claims that she was shocked but
could not be happier. The bigger her belly gets during her
pregnancy, the more that she seems to glow.
Nowadays, it seems like the odds of having twins is much
more likely than years ago. Some people find themselves hoping
that they have twins. Others panic at the thought of having
more than one child at once to care for. It is also much more
common now for women who want to get pregnant, to find out how
to increase their odds of having twins. There are many, many
urban legends about how to increase your odds of having
twins.
However, sometimes, you can try every single method you’ve
ever heard of in order to have twins, and it simply won’t work.
Some people are simply blessed, or cursed, with the family
genes – perhaps they are a twin or twins run in their family.
Of course, you can’t control your DNA or family history. And
so, people find themselves looking at the methods of increasing
their odds of having
twins.
There are some ways that seem a lot more reputable that may
increase your odds of having twins. It seems like the older you
are when you get pregnant, the more likely the odds are of
having twins. Why? Doctors will say that the increased
ovulation as you age can produce multiple eggs. And, of course,
multiple eggs can result in twins.
If you’re up for getting pregnant soon after giving birth,
studies have shown that the odds of having twins can be
increased if you get pregnant while you are breastfeeding
another child. Supposedly, while you’re nursing, your body has
a depletion of calcium. This lack of calcium has a great impact
on the egg during conception.
There are also theories as to certain foods that you can eat
that may increase your odds of having twins. Yams are thought
to have certain chemicals that increase the odds. If you’re up
for trying just about anything to have twins, make sure to
stock up on yams. Of course, the best way to increase your
odds of having
twins, be taking fertility drugs.
However, simply telling your doctor that you want to have
twins and asking for fertility drugs is not a good idea.
Traditionally, fertility drugs are for people who are having
trouble trying to conceive even one child. These kinds of drugs
can have lots of different effects on your body, so if you’re
lucky enough to find a doctor who will hand you a prescription
simply to increase your odds, make sure you know all of the
risks.
If you’re truly into having twins, give some of the above
thoughts a shot. And, before you embark on any mission, make
sure that it is not going to be hazardous to yourself or any
children that you may conceive.
